An-Nahit, The Invisible Tears

This painting is a pictorial representation of the Arabic term "An-Nahit" (النَّحِيطُ) meaning tears that do not come out and accumulate in the heart. Through the silhouette in the center, invaded by the rough sea, we can imagine a man overwhelmed by suffering and sorrow. His interior contrasts perfectly with the peaceful setting that surrounds him. This shows that despite his desire to blend into the background, his pain is too intense to achieve this.
